IACC guides for new approaches to event catering

IACC (International Association of Congress Centers) published, on its website, two guides that explore the impacts of the pandemic in event’s catering. New approaches are presented to face the current constraints. These guides were created based on the opinions of experts, who shared the experiences of venues that managed to reopen and host small events.
The first document, “Guide to Re-Imagining Refreshment Breaks”, addresses different issues related to coffee breaks, namely: wraping and boxing; food presentation; considerations on food waste; physical characteristics of break stations and locations; separating food and beverage services.
The second guide, entitled “Guide to Re-Imagining Conference Lunch Breaks”, highlights, among other things: the menu design; the service in the conference room; personalized service; presentation and packaging of food; and also food waste.
IACC hopes that these guides may be a resource for enhanced protocols related to food and beverage service since food and beverage experience remains such an incredible catalyst for networking, idea sharing and delivering a exceptional meeting experience for attendees.
