Turismo Centro de Portugal's promotional film has been awarded in several international tourism films festivals. The most recent recognition took place at the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival held in the Croatian capital between 13th and 15th September, having won one of the two Festival Director's Special Awards.
This distinction adds to several other awards:
"Grand Prix" (Best Portuguese film) and 1st prize in the "Tourist Destinations – Regions" category, at ART & TUR Festival, Portugal (October 2016);
Best Film in the "Tourist Destinations - Countries" category at the Istanbul International Tourism Film Festival, Turkey (June 2017);
"Silver Screen" at the United States International Film and Video Festival in Los Angels (August 2017);
"Silver Wave" at the International Festival of Tourism and Environmental Film Festival, Serbia (September 2017).
Directed by Sara Reis, produced by Slideshow and dedicated to the memory of the victims of the fires of Pedrógão Grande, the film lasts for two minutes and ten seconds, during which various tourist features in the Center of Portugal region are presented: cultural and architectural heritage; beaches, rivers and related sports activities; villages and towns; traditions and gastronomy.
The prominence the film has known both nationally and internationally already assured it would take the 4th place, among 154 competitors, in the world ranking of tourism films of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals.
In addition to the relevance of this worldwide recognition, the international promotion of the Center of Portugal region will certainly be strengthened, making it known to more markets and destinations.
