Rapid auto-tests in events without health professional supervision
According to the update of the standard on the National Testing Strategy for SARS-CoV-2, released by Direção Geral de Saúde (DGS), rapid auto-tests, carried out on the day and place where the event takes place, don’t have to be supervised by health professionals.
According to DGS, these tests are recommended in cultural, sports or corporate events "whenever the number of participants/spectators is greater than 1,000, in an open environment, or greater than 500, in a closed environment".
The standard also defines that these tests for covid-19 are now recommended in family events with more than 10 people, such as weddings and baptisms, public services and companies.
Positive results in rapid antigen tests must be confirmed by PCR tests within 24 hours, DGS also clarified.
