The Porto and Northern Portugal region will host more than 250 sports events, including Portugal's Rally, which according to Turismo Porto e Norte de Portugal (TPNP), is expected to "attract thousands of enthusiasts to the North".

"Events are important drivers of the destination's tourism and economy growth. In the last year alone, we experienced a return of around 500 million euros, a very significant value for the national economy. This calendar compiles 250 days of action that will undoubtedly mobilise crowds and translate into a high media repercussion, which will end up leveraging the Porto and North brand even more," Melchior Moreira, TPNP President says.

Among all these events, more than 70 are related to running and hiking, while around 50 will be dedicated to cycling or mountain biking, and more than a dozen to motor racing.
