IMEX Team Launches PlanetIMEX Virtual Experience

The IMEX team is launching PlanetIMEX, a new virtual experience to support international business events, meetings and incentive travel industry, following the cancelation of IMEX Frankfurt 2020.
PlanetIMEX will feature 3D interactive “islands”, with principles borrowed from the world of online gaming. Online users may explore, reconnect, talk future business and continue learning with friends and colleagues from the global business events community. Visitors will also have unlimited free access to a range of contents and activities on “three islands”: a beach-themed Community Island; a forest-inspired Education Island; a Networking Island, with canyons, mountains and valleys.
PlanetIMEX’s kick off will happen on 6 May, with Community Island and Education Island opened to industry visitors. The calendar scheduled for the following days will include:
• EduMonday, a full day of education and interactive content, featuring a keynote by the managing director of the Global Destination Sustainability Index, Guy Bigwood (11 May). All education content will reside on a platform designed and developed by sponsor Cvent;
• IMEX Community Day, with content delivered by a range of IMEX Group’s Association and other partners. IMEX-MPI Future Leaders Forum will also happen on this day (12 May);
• IMEX Introductions, to encourage industry buyers and suppliers to explore new business relationships (14 May);
• Specific contents aimed at buyer communities - corporate, association and agency directors (18 May).
Access is free, but registration is required for both education content and IMEX Introductions.
The IMEX Group plans to expand the content, programmes and engagement opportunities on PlanetIMEX over the next months.
