Faro connected to Verona in 2018

The Algarve will have a flight to Italy starting next June, operated by the airline Volotea, according to a statement by the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA). The new route starts on June 6th next year and is the only direct air connection between this region and Italy. The route will be available until September, with a weekly frequency, offering a capacity of 5,400 seats.
In 2016, about 108 thousand overnight stays of Italian tourists were registered in the Algarve, and Italy is already being considered an interesting market and one of strategic relevance for the region, explained Dora Coelho, executive director of ATA.
The number of Italians who are choosing the Algarve has been increasing, especially in the residential tourism field, similar to the British, Nordic and French.
