Since 1958...
Established in late 1958, CAEL became one of the first players on the market to start the activity of car rental without driver in early 1959, following the publication of the diploma that created this industry.
In September 1963, the two families that still own CAEL acquired the entire capital of the company. Having as its starting point a fleet of only six vehicles, in a few years CAEL achieved a prominent position in the sector, especially in tourism.
In 1975, CAEL was a pioneer in car rental for companies, having maintained a fleet of 500 rental cars destined only for this area and achieving a prestigious position thanks to the quality of the service provided and the progressive expansion of its customer base.
By the end of the 80's, following the avant-garde tradition that characterises it, CAEL again innovated with the creation of a new business area, the rental of commercial vehicles.
From the 90's to the turn of the millennium, CAEL's strategy was to join new companies. Alongside the success of its financial component, this strategy has created important synergies, opening up to new horizons and ambitious goals.
At present, CAEL has a vast fleet directed to the most diverse needs of the business market, as well as for the most demanding tourism. This positioning has led to necessary and large investments in the acquisition and constant renewal of the fleet.
Currently, CAEL management integrates three generations of the two families that have been leading their way for more than half a century. For this reason, the know-how acquired, the organisation developed and the improvement of methods guarantee a prosperous future for its employees, partners and, above all, customers, the main reason for CAEL's existence.
