The fifth edition of "Portugal Air Summit" will take place from 13 to 17 October, at the airfield of Ponte de Sor (Alentejo region).
Under the motto "Flying for a New Start", the event, considered the largest aeronautical Iberian summit, will have 47 conferences and 204 speakers confirmed. The recovery of the aviation sector, travel rules and new guidelines for Covid testing are some of the topics under discussion.
General public will be allowed to attend the event, and 20 teams of students from various European universities will participate in the launch of rockets – for the first time, a Portuguese team is represented, from Instituto Superior Técnico. The rockets will be launched at Campo Militar de Santa Margarida.
“Portugal Air Summit” will maintain the hybrid format, with a continuous streaming broadcast. Debates and other activities will be available over the Internet. In addition to the digital component, the airfield space will have sections dedicated to various themes and an exhibition area,
The event is promoted by the municipality of Ponte de Sor, with the support of various sectors of aeronautics, namely the Portuguese Space Agency.
