US Delta Airlines has announced two new routes to Portugal, from May 2018 on, connecting Ponta Delgada (Azores) to New York and Lisboa to Atlanta.
Ponta Delgada - New York (JFK airport) will operate five days a week and will be the first direct connection between these two cities, marking this airline's entry in the Azores islands.
Between Lisboa and Atlanta, Delta will have daily flights, the airline commented in a statement.
The airline is investing in connections to Europe from Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Atlanta and Detroit airports. "For more than four decades, Delta has been bringing people together and causing a positive economic impact in the other side of the Atlantic," Dwight James, the company's vice president, quoted in the same statement.
Delta has returned to Portugal this year, 20 years later, with a flight between Lisboa and New York.
