As part of the celebrations of the 500 years of the circumnavigation trip of Fernão de Magalhães, the Explorers Club's Global Exploration Summit (GLEX)  will once again bring together, in Portugal, the exploration elite from around the world under the motto "explore and learn".

The event will take place between the 6th and 10th of July 2021, with the opening ceremony scheduled in Lisbon and the closing ceremony on the island of São Miguel, in Azores Region.

The main themes of the conference will be space and ocean exploration and polar exploration, and other topics will also be addressed, such as the conservation of natural sanctuaries, the environmental sustainability of the planet, climate change and extreme phenomena, namely tsunamis and giant waves.

The event will bring together the world’s leading explorers who make a difference in the future of humanity for an unprecedented gathering where they will share cutting-edge technology and innovations to propel us toward the next frontier in the future of exploration. This year, the Summit will showcase the latest discoveries, the explorations with the future of the planet and connect with the public through mass media and audience participation.
