Deck-Bar, one of the oldest houses in Cascais, has kept its name and activity since 1929. There are testimonies that refer to this place as a German espionage centre, with the purpose of controlling the movements of expatriate royal families and who had settled in Estoril.
The name Deck is comes from a sailboat with the same name anchored at Tamariz beach. In 1956, its license of use was formally assigned by the Municipal Council of Cascais.
Over the years, Deck has become known as a meeting place for families and friends, and this is a tradition that still holds true.
