The IBTM World Trends Report 2021, which looks at the analysis of the future of the meetings and events industry, was presented last December at IBTM World Virtual. Through data analysis, case studies and interviews with industry experts, this document analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and presents global megatrends, such as safety, sustainability, well-being, diversity and inclusion, among other reflections.

Within this report, the strong impact of the pandemic on the meetings industry is recalled, realizing that in an increasingly digital world, live presentations are strongly valued. As we look into the future, the answer lies in the hybrid which means holding two events “exceptionally well” (face-to-face audience and another for the online audience), reads in the conclusion of the document. Regardless, we must not forget that this means greater pressure for event organizers.
