The European Heritage Days (EHD) are back, between 25 and 27 September, under the theme "Heritage Education".
Coordinated by the Cultural Heritage Department (Direção-Geral do Património Cultural -DCPC), a variety of activities will take place, in 127 Portuguese municipalities, namely 300 visits (guided and free), 45 shows, 45 exhibitions, 67 workshops, 34 conferences and other face-to-face initiatives. According to DGPC, all these activities comply with the safety measures and standards defined by the Portuguese Health Department.
EHP 2020 will also include, due to the pandemic, a significant variety of online events, from virtual visits and exhibitions, presentations and films.
Most of the events have free admission, noting that, on the 27th of September, admission to the Museums, Palaces and Monuments under DGPC's supervision, admission is free for all visitors.
EHP are a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, created with the objective of raising awareness for the protection and enhancement of Cultural Heritage.
